What is Feng Shui?
I'm asked this question a lot. Dictionary.com defines Feng Shui, pronounced “fuhng shwey”, as "the Chinese art or practice of creating harmonious surroundings that enhance the balance of yin and yang, as in arranging furniture or determining the siting of a house." You can easily think of Feng Shui as everything around you, because everything holds energy. The clothes you wear, the car you drive, the sheets you sleep on, all hold energy. There is a feeling behind it, unique to everyone. What if I told you there are ways to manipulate or adjust your environment to attract more money or improve your relationships? Applying these principles is easier than you would imagine. Here's one idea you can use right away. A front door is considered the mouth of chi. All your opportunities come through the front door! Here are just a few things to improve the energy of your home or business, via the front door.
1) Use it. Even if you have a side door or attached garage, find time to open the front door and let the opportunities in.
2) Create an inviting experience. Paint the door your favorite color, or one that stands out. You want opprtunity to find it!
3) For those of you that live in the Midwest, a good rule of thumb is to clean out pots in the Fall, rather than leave dead plants in them all winter.
4) Be sure you can open the door completely. You wouldn't want to block the wealth energy from coming in, would you?
